We spent the day at the VA Hospital in Durham. My husband had a follow up on his eyes.
They have a new slogan posted outside the hospital that really touched my mind and my
heart. "The cost of war is visible here".This is so very true and to the point.
My husbands age are the older veterans now but you see so many younger men and women
now at the hospital. So many lives changed forever and sometimes you wonder for what.
Many of the "wars" changed nothing but the lives of the service men and women the situation
where they fought and many died has not changed.
We pray for these veterans and their families. We also pray that our government will not forget
the sacrifices they have made and continue to improve and provide the care that they need.
God Bless
Until next time

Voter ID
This has been a big political item in our state. I had a incident the other day that brought this
to mind. I am all for having to prove who you are in order to vote and this is why.
Walmart. I had a package to pick up. I had my computer email etc to show the clerk.
I didnot take in my DL and so I couldnot get my package. I had to walk back out to the
car to get it and bring it in to show before I was allowed to get my package.
The thought if you can't pick up a package from Walmart without an ID it only makes
sense to have to show who you are when you are doing something as important as voting.
My 2 cents worth.
God Bless

Hi It has been a while since I have made a entry and I hope you will still read about what is going on
in my life. This year has started off a little crazy in good ways and bad ways
.
We lost my Uncle Leroy and my sister in law Susan. It is still hard to accept sometimes that they are gone
.
We have a new great grandson Nicolas who is precious beyond words. We also have twins coming in June or July. Grandson Steven and Taylor. They are having a boy and a girl, how awesome is that. Just waiting and praying that they come into this world healthy and safe. Keep Taylor in your thoughts and prayers as she enters the last weeks of carrying these precious lives.
My Mama is doing really good. We are getting on each others nerves but surviving.
My husband has had some problems with his eyes but it appears it is getting better. Another check up
tomorrow at the eye clinic at the VA Hospital in Durham.Aches and pains that is one of the things
your "golden" years produce.
Next month May is our anniversary month. A trip is planned to Florida for two weeks. I am getting
excited. I am planning on blogging about the trip. Hope you will keep up with our adventure.
I am selling Avon www.youravon.com/lindalyles and also books and misc on facebook @For sale
by Linda. Please check out if you get a chance and I would love it if you would like my page.
I have been reading some I think great books and I will write about some of them in the future.
God Bless and keep you safe

Life Changes that are Forever
My husband's last sibling passed away very suddenly in her sleep. It is such a shock and hard to
accept. In our later years we didnot see each other very often but whenever and wherever there was always a kiss and a hug and I love you from Susan. I shall miss that.
It is sad and hard when all the family from your youth is just about gone. I am thinking of that this
morning as we prepare to say goodbye. When we first got married we were very close to all of my
husbands sisters and brother in laws and now they are gone. It was Cookie and Dick, Martha and Tommy, Susan and Jerry(her first husband) and us Linda and Jimmy. But one by one they have all
left this world and left us behind. We saw each other at least once a week at Jim's Grandmothers house. So many memories and so many good and happy days.I am sad that there will be no more new memories for us with these loved ones. Praying and having that blessed hope that we will be reunited
in heaven someday.

My Uncle Leroy
To our side of the family he was Uncle Leroy to his wife's side of the family he was Uncle Roy,but
whatever the name he will be missed. He left this world yesterday and Thursday we travel to
Morganton to say good bye.
As a child I never saw him much as he drove a truck and for many years lived in Maryland.
Our family was blessed that about nine years ago we reconnected. My Mama is his sister and now
she is the only one left out of seven.
The last years we enjoyed many visits with him and spent a few Thanksgivings with him. Great memories
that we will always have.
He was a man who loved to travel when his wife was alive and these later years he loved to eat.
We were not able to see him these last months as his health went downhill but in my mind I keep
seeing a picture of him smiling and healthy and I am glad for that.
It is hard to say good bye and to know he is no longer with us in this world but he professed
a great faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so now he is with him and free from pain.
Good Bye Uncle Leroy I was happy to know you and will always remember you with much
love.

Tragedy
I along with the whole world have been saddened and horrified about the killing of
all the children and teachers in Conn. It has been on my mind and in my thoughts all
the time. The horror, you just can't get your mind around it.All those babies gone. My heart
goes out to all involved.
May it remind us that our time is short on this earth and to live and love as if it was our
last day. Take care with the people we love and don't take them for granted.
But we are human and we will move on and forget until the next tragedy reminds us again of
how fragile and fleeting life is.
But for now hold close and love your family. God comfort and help the families and
help our country to see that being a Godless country is not working.

Catch up for November
It has been a month since I have made an entry. During this time we have moved.
We are renting a doublewide just a road over from where we were staying. It is
so very nice. We have so much room. Mama has a open wide space to get around in
her wheelchair. She can do more for herself. It is great.
My grandson Zack has moved in with us so that is another adjustment but all is good.
God has worked in out in his timing and I am so very thankful .
Christmas is coming and I have our tree up really not one but Two trees. Can you believe room for
two trees?
We had to cancel our trip to Florida due to Mama and moving but hopefully we will be able
to go later.
Have a Blessed day
